My favorite things, MARCH 2010

As you ladies who follow my blog on the regular know that I have been loving nail polish this a lot last month so I figured I would do a favorite things on a few of my favorite polishes. They are in no particular order.

1. Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in 22 Gunmetal. I have had this for a really long time and I love it as much as I did when I bought it.

2.Sally Hansen Insta Dri in 22 Jumpin Jade. I love the color and I LOVE LOVE that it dries so quickly. It is great for those quick mani's that you don't really have the time to wait for them to dry. 1 coat is also all you really need although I still use 2. But the reason I love it the most is because of the brush. It has a super thick brush that I can't get enough of. I will definiatily be adding more insta dry polishes to my collection, the only thing is that they are about 5 bucks a pop instead of my normal Sinful Colors 2 dollar price point.



3. Rimmel French TIp Pro White. I also Love this also because of the tip. It is skinny so it make doing nail designs so simple and although I have a few other skinny tip polishing I just keep reaching for this one.


4. Sinful Colors 105 Midnight Blue. sinful colors is far and away my favorite polish brand. I love the color range, the price and the quality. This blue is probably the polish I have worn most this month on my nails.


5. Sinful Colors in 923 Queen of Beauty. Next to Midnight Blue this is my second most worn color. It adds glam to most any color and I love that it is a sparkle you can build upon. For some of my manis I love a lot of glitter and others I like just a touch. Its less messy than loose glitter and faster for beginners like me.


6. Sinful Colors 103 Black on Black As you probably can tell I am really into dark colors on my nails so its no suprise that black would make the list.


*Honorable Mentions*
These are polishes that I love, but aren't really my favorites. they are definantly great spring colors too.

Scalp Exfoliator.

Hey Doll's

As you all know I have being fighting an on going battle with my dry itchy scalp. It seems like I have tried everything, but nothing seems to help. While I was searching youtube and the hair boards I came across this recipe for a scalp exfoliation.

All you need is Brown Sugar, Silicone free Conditioner(or a Carrier Oil of your choice) and Tea Tree Oil


I mixed 4 parts brown sugar to 2 parts condtioner and about 10-15 drops of Tea Tree Oil


here's what I got


To Apply I parted my hair into 4 sections working one section at a time I used my fingers to apply the mixture to my scalp rubbing in circular motions. Here's what it looks like:


Once I applied the scrub to an entire section I then went back and applied my Kitchen Sink DC to the length of my hair(OH yea Click HERE for the the KS recipe and HERE for a list of my staple products)

then i pined it back up


Once all 4 sections were done I put my plastic cap on and let it sit for about an hour.
I rinsed each section one by one and re clipped it when I was done.

after rinsing I co washed in the 4 sections with my Giavonni Conditioner, then I did an AVC rinse to make sure all the Sugar was out. I i finished with a cool water rinse.

I left my hair wrapped in my turbie Twist for about 10 minutes while I got dressed, then I applie my LTR and The Aphogee Leave-in, The I moisturized and sealed with Coconut oil.(all in the 4 sections)

Lastly I braided braided each section(4 big braids) and put a roller on the ends to air dry.

I will do a quick updated post tmrw to let you know how well this treatment turned out.

Mini Haul.

I mean really really mini. I left the house with the intention of buying an alarm clock and came back with this stuff(no clock). I don't feel like doing house work right now so I figured I would share it with you.

I went to Target and 5 Below, which is like a little cute dollar store in this area.

From Taret I got this really cute Canvas Tote that I am going to use as a beach bag for Miami. It was on Sale for 8 bucks.





Then Went to 5 below, still looking for a clock and ended up adding to my nail polish collection. They have all these really amazing, and really cheap polishes, but I stuck with the ones with the skinny brushes so I can do more designs.



These are all by Color Club and I got them 3 for 5. The colors I got are
#2 Black


#26 Fine Gold Glitter

and #61 Malmsy

Turquoise and White Zebra Stripes

I did my nails today...


Colors used: Funky Fingers Bizerk Turq, Rimmel London French White Tip Pro, Sinful Colors, Queen of Beauty and Nail Hardener.




- 1 Coat of clear polish as a base
- 2 Coats of Bizerk Turq (let dry)
- 1 more coats of hardener(let dry)
- I started at the base of my nail making white squiggly lines with the White. The brush is actually a thin tip so it made the application easy.(Let dry)
- Then took my costal scents lip brush that I HATE, used it to apply the Sinful Colors Queen of beauty randomly in between the whit lines.
- 2 More coats of clean to seal everything in and Volia...



I really like this look. I am going to try to make it last till the weekend because we are all going out for a friends birthday, and I'm not sure if I can repeat this lol...

Update: Use Up My Stash!

Hey Dolls,

I realized after I posted my last updates that I forgot to let you know how use up my stash was going. I have used everything atleast once, except for my Biosilk. I plan on roller setting next week becaue my offical length check is in April so I will have a chance to use it then.

I also realized that I really don't like the Proclaim Natural 7 Oil for my hair at all. So I have been using it on my skin. I think its too thick and it leaves my hair feeling greasy.

Hopefully I will have most of this stuff used up by June so I can repurchase some staples and I think I will do a mini summer Use Up My Stash, because I really have wayy too much stuff just collecting dust.
