17 weeks post... Wash day

Hey doll's,

Just wanted to do a quick upday on my new wash dayy routine. Since im am so far into my stretch(my longest ever) my old routine just doesn't seem to cut it anymore. I still do most of the same things, but I made some minor changes in order to reduce sheeding and breakage and the line.

1. I pre poo woth a mix of water, glycerin, detangler and a cheapie conditioner

I put the mixture into a spray bottle to reduce the mess.

I pre-poo'd in 4 sections taking time to detangle as I went.

I let it sit for about 30 minutes(I finshed the new episode of TEEN MOM)

2. I got into the shower. and rinsed one section at a time, making sure not to cause any tangles.

3. shampoo'd

4. applied my cheapie on top of the poo

5. rinsied and finger combed.

6. I applied my GVP version of Kpac. let it sit for about a minute or 2 then rinsed

7. Towel dried my hair and sectioned it out into 4 sections

8. applied my dc and let it sit for an hour and a half.

I saw a hugh diffenece in the amount of hair I lost, and my hair looks and feels so healthy. With this new method I hope to keep this stretch going until Mid- December just in time for Christmas. I hope to be able to claim full SL by then.

Box Braids!!!

Hey Dolls!
Today is Friday which means WASH DAY!!!! I realized that I don't have an in depth post on my wash day routine so I figured why not add it to this post.

Here's what I used:

This week m Pre-poo was my DC. I know it's confusing, but a pre poo is actually anything you do to prepare your hair for your wash.
- I DC'd with my Sallay's GVP Conditioning Balm overnight
- I washed with my Giavonni Smooth as Silk Shampoo
- Quick Conditioned with the Smooth as Silk Conditioner

After my wash I sperated my hair into 4 sections:

then detangeled with:

(the Spray bottle has my Silken Child Detangler because i hate the pump on the original bottle)You dont have to use what I used. any leave in you have will do as long as it has good slip

For Each Section
- I sprayed the Aphogee(use up my stash)
- applied my LTR
- sprayed the Silken Child
- then used my wide tooth comb to detangle

Then to the ends of my hair I used:

-ors Hair Lotion
- coconut oil

NOW on to the braids.

Here's what you'll need:

- Duck bill Clips
- Rat Tail comb to part sections
- Rollers for the ends of braids

I worked in the same 4 sections from before

half way done:

done!!

the roots!!

I hope I can make these braids last for 2 weeks, but I will be happy with a just one. Oh and I am only gonna leave the rollers in for about an hour so just to keep the braids from unraveling. Then Volia! The perfect under wig style for those who can't cornrow like me!

Peace

Honey & Olive Oil Pre-poo, and Porosity Control...

So as you know I join a strict hair challege on Hairlista and one of the rules are that you must "pamper your hair with a homemade hair treatment once a month." Well I decided to do my treatment on the last wash day of each month and today is the day. I am currently sitting in the Kitchen with a concoction of $ parts olive oil to 2 parts honey. I figured i would do a hot oil treatment/pre poo and I wanted to keep the ingredients simple.

It put the mix in an empty color applicator bottle and warmed it in the microwave. However Iwas talking to my mom on the phone and forgot I had it in there so in result, it was boling hot lol. So because put in in the freezer for about 5/6 minutes then I applied it to my hair in sections, the same way I oil my scalp.

Anyway, Idk if i have to much honey, or what but it is kind of sticky and my hair feels a little stiff :( I hope my hair doesn't end up a tangled mess when I go to wash it out. I will update this post when I'm done....

Anyway I also went to Sally's today to pick up some silken child detangler, and while I was there I picked up a sample bottle of roux Porosity Control. The stuff is supposed to work wonders, i'm just not sure how to use it yet...

Dry Scalp Pre-Poo

Hey Dolls,
Sorry it's been so long, but I'm back with my dry scalp pre-poo.If you hadn't already guessed it, you can not have long heathly hair, without first having a healthy scalp. So once you've got your regiment, and your protective style, and you understand balance, the next thing you have to do is get your scalp in fighting condition. I am gooing to explore this topic over the next week or two, because I too have a dry itchy scalp, and I am interested in learning more ways to combat the problem. my dry scalp pre-poo is one major weapon in my battle against dry scalp.

I got the inspiration for this from Tracyee from KISS. I was using her pre-poo, but it didn't quite work for me as well as had hoped it would so I tweeked it alittle bit, and came up with a great combination of conditioner and essential oils that have really transformed my scalp. I relaxed last Sunday, so now my scalp is screaming for some lovin' so here's what I did...

oh and here's Tracyee's orignal recipe, if your scalp is dry, but not as bad as mine (it's the second post on the page so you have to scroll to the bottom)...

Peace
so Much Love
