Quick Tip:Using Coconut Oil in the Winter

Ok I have rededicated myself to this blog.
I have no excuses, I'm just lazy.
Any-who, I'm back with a quick trick to help you  and your hair get through this winter unscathed. I saw this when I was  browsing Pinterest and I literally jumped up and ran into the kitchen to try it out. It's so simple yet genius I can't believe that I have never heard of doing it before.

You know coconut oil right?
You know how it's hard and sooooo annoying to deal with in the wintertime right?
Are you like me and you pretty much give up on it until the weather warms back up?
Well now you don't have to, and no this doesn't involve a microwave or a hot water bath.

ok here's the tip..

take the coconut oil and WHIP IT!!!
Thats it.
That's All
Put as much or as little as you like in a bowl, and beat it with your electric mixer.Iit shouldn't take more than 5 minutes, more if you use a lot and less if you use a little. To be safe, just stop when you get a fluffy, frosting like consistency.

I did this a few days ago and my oil has stayed pretty much the same as the day I whipped it, and let me tell you it makes applying the stuff 100 times easier!

The mixture  melts into your hand, it's like a little slice of heaven
No need to thank me.
Peace
Erika

My two cents

I wanted my next entry in my Oil Guide on Proclaim Natural 7 Oil because my bottle is almost gone. It’s not my favorite hair oil. I think it’s too thick and greasy for my hair, and at least for me it caused some build up. I do however like it for my skin. I usually put it on fresh out of the shower at night and it leaves my skin soft and moisturized in the morning. I also put it in my bath water and it makes my skin SO SOFT. All in all it’s a crappy hair oil, but a great skin oil. I probably won’t be re purchasing it though, just because so other oil’s that I already use give me the same results

Oil Guide: Tea Tree Oil

Hey Dolls
Here is another entry of our Oil Guide. I want this to be sort of a quick referance guide to help you decide which oils are right for you,but I also encourage you to do some more in-depth reserch on your own if you want more info about a certin Oil. Knowledge is power right :).
Anyway Tea Tree Oil Is the oil of the day. As with all oils, the best kind of tea tree oil is 100% pure tea tree oil, but there are some brands that make tea tree oil mixes if you can't find pure oil or don't want to pay for it. One important thing to note with pure tea tree oil, as well as all essential oils is never use it without first diluting it with another oil, or glycerin or lotion or shampoo(get the picture).

Hair Benifits
- helps unclog the hair follicle and scalp
- helps prevent dandruff
- helps promote growth
- helps prevent lice

How to Use it
- mix it with your favorite shampoo's and condtioners
- mix it with another oil for scalp massages
- use it in a spritz to refresh your scalp when wearing braids

Other Benifits and Uses
-anit-inflamatory
-helps fight nail fungus
-helps with atheltes foot
-disinfects cuts and burns
-also helps heal skin(think neosporin)

My 2 Cents
I love Love LOVE essensial oil's because my scalp needs all the extra love and attention it can get. I have been going hard on tea tree oil latley because my scalp is killing me. I mixed it with my sweet almond oil and I use it oil oil my scalp whenever the urge strikes. I also use it in my weekly scalp scrub and I have it mixed in with my DC's. I also put a few drops in my Aloe Vera Spritz and I keep it in the fridge and it instanly cools and soothes my scalp after being under my wig all day. It is definatly a staple for me.
